Links to help you start up your business
Well last week I was busy trying to start to develop my web-site and that's still on-going??.. but I promised to share with all those entrepeneurs like myself and that includes those of us who are over 50 - few links that I have found helpful!!
But the good news is if you, like me, are in our Prime, then there is a whole lot out there to help us - we're not done yet you know!!
Having taken the decision to go it alone - that's exactly how you feel ' all alone' but don't because you're not! You just haven't found them yet and there a lot of them.
There's the government backed agencies and associated sites and I think some are just in it for the ride - you soon realise there isn't much happening around them, I won't name and shame - they know who they are I will just tell you those I have found more than helpful:
http://www.businesslink.gov.uk/ - business link if you only wanted one site then call here and at the moment all their courses are free and there's loads of downloads
http://www.primebusinessclub.co.uk/ - come in all those over 50 cos this is the site for you!!
http://enterprisequest.com/ - great place to find useful information - some of it you get free from Prime so go there first!!
http://www.startupcommunity.co.uk/ - last but certainly not least if anyone has a personality within any of these organisations its Kate Moss - she has, well its probably not her directly, but she has given me loads of useful tips and some wonderful sites to go on
http://www.midessexenterpriseagency.co.uk/ - you will be met by the site isn't up and running yet - bit of a let down for a government or probably county run site - but I'm told a very useful organisation - I'm yet to have a meaningful conversation with them. No apologies for it being Essex - I'm from Lancashire so there's no favouratism - but there must be similar organisations in all areas and I'm sure through their phone line they will be able to put you in touch with them.
So there you go!..
oh and I'm forgetting the one that I was most surprised about but the HMRC - yes the HMRC are the most helpful organisation there is
http://www.hmrc.gov.uk/ - they organise courses and operate a very useful helpline and aren't after taking every penny they can of you quite the contrary!!
I have to say I thought I would get loads of grants and I'm not saying there aren't but not in the fields that I am going to operate in.
So there you go my helping hand for what its worth to all you people who are the future, and start networking on all of the sites even Twitter!!
More from me next week!!
