Recent House and Garden Projects

Created Thursday, 30 June 2011.

After a quiet June whilst I went on holiday and enjoyed cricket at the Rosebowl - July looks like it's going to be really busy with three projects achieving planning permission early in the month and all the respective clients want me to crack on with getting building control.

But I look back on June and realise that I completed a preliminary design for a loft conversion in Weeley, a garden design for front and rear gardens in Shenfield and priced up several garden projects in Galleywood and Clavering. Whilst still finding time to complete building control approval for the loft conversion in Galleywood! So not so quiet after all.

I've just uploaded the recent projects for the house side of the business on http://www.facebook.com/InoutHouseAndGarden - take a look, the garden side is blooming with the Willow Close project just about to start..

RHS Chelsea 2011

Created Monday, 30 May 2011.

I had the great pleasure of visiting Chelsea 2011 on Friday, and thought that year on year it reaches new heights?

What I always think is amazing is that the same new trends appear on many of the main garden sites at the same time.

This year it's the development of meadow planting whether it was under-planting of multi-stemmed trees or planting in full sun.

I love the introduction of the Artisan gardens with a focus on craftsmanship.

The urban gardens too also had a focus on sustainability.

Even in the main hall there was a growing awareness of eco-systems.

All in all a great year and next year, 2012, is the 90th year what a year for London with the Olympic Games and the fantastic gardens surrounding the arenas?

New Web-site

I finally have my new web-site for the garden side of my business, a web-site totally focussed on garden design and build with an ideas page to help stimulate your thoughts on what you want from out of your garden.
I've included many of my latest designs some of which have already been constructed and planted and some of which are waiting to start.

I do hope you enjoy the site and that it encourages you to contact me for an exploratory initial consultation.

So Much Help Around in Recessionary Times

Went on a HMRC course yesterday - I know not one of the most exciting events in my life - but the information given out to would-be entrepenuers was fantastic and of course good opportunity to network.

In at the deep end

Created Wednesday, 01 July 2009.

Well at my time of life I should know better than to start a fresh.. well that's what half of me says and sometimes its more than half of me.
But then I was always up for a challenge and I needed that after my father died and I was made redundant. I sometimes describe the feeling as running on the hamster wheel and when you fall off you don't know any better than to get back on.
